“The programme has funding of $13.5 million [MK6.1 billion] running for a 10-year period. The programme started in 2011,” said Khonje.

Since its inception, the 14 000 children have benefitted from higher quality of early learning.

The next phase of the programme aims at constructing 18 more preschools to ensure that 37 000 children aged 3-5 years have access to Early Childhood services.
